It provides the reader with an understanding of scanning techniques, normal anatomy, ultrasound appearances, pathologic findings, and common problems in interpreting images. It contains over 300 scans with detailed legends explaining pathologic findings and arrows pointing out diagnostically significant features of each image. The first two chapters discuss the capabilities and limitations of real-time ultrasound, the instrumentation and techniques, and the basic principles of interpretation.
