Product Description The complete resource for digestive health. It's been said that health begins in the stomach. When digestion is not working properly, the whole body suffers. Skin rash, bad breath, headache, fatigue, overweight, and premature aging can all result from poor digestion-not to mention gastric disorders like heartburn, indigestion, and irritable bowel syndrome. But nearly half of digestive disorders can be averted with proper eating, exercise, stress management, and related lifestyle modifications. In Natural Stomach Care , gastroenterologist Anil Minocha, M.D., combines the wisdom of traditional Eastern healing with the advancements of conventional Western medicine to offer a wide range of easy-to-use, affordable, and effective at-home natural therapies that can strengthen digestion, keep the colon clean and the bowels moving, and improve overall health. In addition to recommendations for overall digestive health, Dr. Minocha provides remedies for a host of digestive complaints. Treatments include healing Chinese herbs, Ayurvedic medicine, yoga, tai chi, probiotics, vitamin and mineral supplements, and lifestyle changes, making Natural Stomach Care an innovative, integrative approach to digestive health.

Natural Stomach Cure November 20, 2003 Dr. John Mccollister (Daytona Beach, FL USA) 21 out of 22 found this review helpful
Since I have suffered from digestive problems for a full decade, I had more than a passing interest in this book. After reading it, I put into practice some of Dr. Minocha's teachings. I can testify beyond any doubt, his counsel works. In my opinion, it is, by far, the most pragmatic book written on the subject. I highly recommend it.John McCollister, Ph.D.
Excellent research, crystal-clear writing March 10, 2004 Matthew Hoffman (Albuquerque, NM United States) 20 out of 21 found this review helpful
I'm a full-time health writer, and after 15 years in the business I've rarely come across a book that so perfectly combines medical findings with practical, easy-to-follow advice. Dr. Minocha is clearly an advocate of alternative styles of medicine, yet he approaches his topic with the eye of a scientist. When I want to know what something does, how it works, how to use it myself--the answers are here. This book rarely leaves my desk, and I expect I'll keep using it as a reference for years to come.
Truly an excellent compendium of problems and solutions October 7, 2005 Caraleisa (West Chester, PA) 11 out of 11 found this review helpful
I bought this book after seeing a list created by its writer, Dr. Minocha, and reading some reviews. It lives up to its description very well. My entire family has GI issues and/or diseases, so I'm pretty well read on both medical and alternative treatments, and this book covers the 'natural' remedies comprehensively. You are given sufficient information to use a remedy, and enough to give you the knowledge to pursue additional information if desired. And most importantly, in my opinion, in many cases Dr. Minocha explains WHY these conditions can exist and why these remedies should work.
I wish we had tried a few of these remedies we didn't know about before my husband had his entire colon removed. I am still going through this book and know it will have a special place on my medical books shelves. I plan to buy a copy for our (wonderful!) GI doctor.
Truely a Great Book September 28, 2003 nate T. (NJ, USA) 10 out of 10 found this review helpful
This is a superb book with excellent content. I have read lot of books on natural stomach care but none matches this one in quality. In short period of time, it has changed my outlook on living completely. I am going to recommend this book to my local library so others can benefit from it too.
East meets West - great combo of Alternative and Traditional September 14, 2003 13 out of 14 found this review helpful
This superb guide proves that all sickness and health begins in the stomach and provides helpful and practical information with focus not just on healing but also prevention of sickness with the goal of positive health! it is easy to read and the text is just not for those with digestive disorders but also those with sensitive and nervous stomach. With over a hundred citations in the book, the information is timely and scientifically sound. While every chapter is loaded with useful info, I found chapters on "Power Nutrition" and "Age-defying gut" most helpful. The natural strategies including the use of "Power foods" and 'probiotics" are already working for me. The book helps you find the right combination of nutritional and modern approaches that best work for you to relieve your digestive problems. It covers cutting edge research as well as breakthrough, natural approaches and secrets that only a gastroenterologist who has treated thousands of patients would know. The book is certainly worth a lot more than the money spent on it, IT'S THE BEST-I feel like a new person.
